Some partners and I are considering developing a "Hooters" franchise in Carrboro at or near Plantation Plaza. The Plaza appears to have plenty of parking, but I notice that lots of it seems to be taken over with university-related parking during the day. During the evening, I suspect that the lot clears out a lot, corrrect? We will ned to ensure adequate parking as part of the initial approval process.

Thanks

A hooters in Carrboro?

I think parking issues will be the least of your worries during the approval process.

You will not have a market in Carrboro. The only chain restaurants in operation are Wendy's and Arby's. Others appear to have been shunned (I haven't been here long enough to comment on why or whether that's a good or bad thing).

Any place that doesn't like Hooters is not a good thing.

I can think of a lot of other restaurants I'd rather see instead of a Hooters.

That's a really weird location for a Hooters, ha! It's probably the worst location in the triangle...you should rethink it if you want to stay open...

Maybe Smithfield?

I agree that a Hooters franchise has little to no chance of getting approved in Chapel Hill or Carrboro. I can understand why one might think it could be successful, what with all of the college kids running around there, but I can't imagine the year-round residents and property owners going for this. They are not fond of franchises there ... especially a franchise with the, uh, atmosphere one finds at Hooters.

There's already one Hooters location in Raleigh, so maybe you should set your sights on Cary or Durham.

If a guy in Chapel Hill or Carrboro wants to see cleavage, he can just look out the window. If we're driving downtown, I need to tell my husband to pay attention so he doesn't drive right through the stoplights.
