Does anyone know what this was about? Our son told us that they had a lockdown and when finally let go were told to hurry straight home. A recorded phone call from the school only said that there was a threat in a nearby community. Very strange.

Didn't see anything in the paper about it or hadn't heard anything on the news.

Rather frightening at the lack of information from the school, too.

No. A letter sent home said the same thing as the recorded call, that there was an incident in a community near the school.

Lockdowns that happen when there is something happening in the surrounding community (code yellow) come at the request of local law enforcement. The school may or may not get a lot of detail on what the problem is.

If the principal doesn't have the details, local law enforcement will.
