I think it's called Ferlo's.

And to the other poster, they have catering, and secret chef prepared dinners to order. I don't know if they deliver to your door, but you could pick up, and take a look around inside....
Yuummmmm. Now I'm hungry for Italian!

It's called "Ferlo's Alimentari" - some co-workers dragged me over there (I wasn't expecting too much), but they raved about it...and actually it's really good - I spent summers in Brooklyn with my great-grandparents so I remember the old-school style deli's...kinda hard to find though....tucked next to Panopolie, in that shopping center with the credit union - if you're looking for something different, they're the way to go...

I happened to be over on that end of Capital Blvd yesterday and I found my way over to Ferlo's... OMG..Meatball Tunnel sub was awesome...i was kind enough to bring it home and split it with DH. I also had picked up some meatballs and their meat sauce...YUM-O.. that was dinner last night. Also picked up rice balls, I didn't know what to expect, I hadn't ever tried them before. THey were good, and it even surprised me that DH liked them too!! They'll see me back over there... so it's a little drive at lunch time.. i think its worth the trip!!!

truly "good" food in Raleigh is not as hard to find as you would think...you just have to know where to look...if you liked the meatball tunnel, you should try the steak (which is chunks of meat, not shaved beef) & greens or the sausage & peppers....I think they made up "Northern" BBQ...which personally, I like much better than NC BBQ...so far I have not had anything that I did not like...even the regular ol' ham sandwich (or "sangwich" as they call it) was yummy!

Have to definitely back you up on Casa Carini...I'm not Italian and by golly I am from the South, but I've tried a WHOLE LOT of Italian food from various places in the Triangle, and haven't found much better than Carini's! As to the authenticity, Italian and as compared to north of the Mason-Dixon line, I'm not sure, but it's some of the best food of any kind I've ever had. I don't live far from there, but it would be worth the drive for me even if I did.
