There was a study done that says if we read a book or a newspaper, we actually READ it but when online, we only SCAN.
Scary how technology affect us but I do agree that newspapers are now losing money and they will end up being done away with. Look at the new technology with the "readers". I guess librarys will be gone before long, as well!!! Maybe we should start collecting books. They could be considered antique before long and perhaps worth some money!!!
My subscription is up this week.. I'm going to try the Kindle edition 14-day trial and see how that is. It'd be $83.88 per year - not sure it's worth even that much though!
I have been annoyed that the North Raleigh News is all about news NOT in North Raleigh. That is pretty much the only reason I get the paper during the week, and Sunday's coupons...
Having said that, this past wed actually had an article on North Raleigh - w00t. Not sure why North Raleigh is ignored so....or is that typical - one article written about downtown and it makes it into all the 'area' edition pieces. I think we are finally seeing the effects of the downsizing of the N&O staff - the articles written locally are pretty much are extinct.
Just received my renewal for the N and O - $195 for 7 days for a year.
Last year I paid $128! I have canceled it for the time being as the paper is getting less and less - midweek the free cary paper is bigger than the N and O.
I pay a lot less for the WSJ Subscription and at least that has some news in it
What does anyone else pay per year?
Been paying $195 the last couple of years. Considering going to weekends only delivery (mainly for Sunday sales papers) and read the N&O online during the week.
The harder ones to find are the P&G coupons - they have an entire insert of their own many Sundays. Any suggestions?
You can buy the Sunday paper at most Dollar Tree stores for only $1.00 instead of the normal $1.50. Also, if you are willing and really into couponing, go to the recycling center once a week and grab the coupon inserts people have left there. It takes me less than five minutes and I get 5-10 copies of each booklet from the Sunday paper. I drop off recycling every week anyway, so it's not even an extra trip for me.
I keep hearing that, but despite all my efforts, I can't seem to find a relatively easy way to find those same coupons online. Is there an obvious site?
I will DM you a site I use. I also will check out the stores website for their weekly flyers..

P&G will email them to you if you register. They have been doing it for a few years now.
