Jammie - Point taken, and no, I am not in SD yet, sadly. However, if the Black Hills are full of liberals and satanists, as the folks in this thread are stating, I will definitely cross that area of the state off my list.

To the rest, yes, this is America. If you want to be weird, go ahead. But you can't expect people not to call you on it. Especially when you act like a self interested adolescent when you have children of your own. Everything isn't you, you , you anymore. Teenagers obsess about their 'tats', their 'band', their 'in your face anti-authoritarian attitude'. You're a grownup now, act like it. ( This is why I suggested Portland, as it is the nation's breeding ground of 30 year old teenagers )

I'm sorry, I cannot remain silent on this issue any longer....ulterscot has a point about people looking at differently dressed people funny.....heck, everyone does it, one of my favorite past times is to go to the mall and just sit and watch people ('people watch'), this is not to say I'm close minded about people expressing themselves because they are different than me, H*ll, sometimes I can't even stand me but the way he expressed it was obviously wrong, he probably could have used a bit more tact, but here everyone basically does the same thing and smashes him for 'HIS FREE SPEECH', I know that everyone needs to get along and everyone here is saying their 'free speech' about the subject as well, thats all anyone can do, just because you say something about something or someone does not make it automatically the truth, case in point, Wikipedia.......I think this thread has gotten way out of hand and just degraded into people bashing each other.....please close it

I think people from out-of-state need to understand that South Dakota isn't necessarily a haven for right-minded, gun-toting, Rush Limbaugh fans. We have a few Ted Kennedy supporters here and there too.

OMG - I completely second DeadwoodJ on shutting down this name calling nightmare thread. I don't know if it is okay for a non-resident (who is going to move to SD) to make a request or second a request, but if so that would be great. DeadwoodJ, thanks for saying something. I've been beyond hesitant because I may (not sure) have been the target of an innuendo earlier in this thread. Bottom line, I think people have the right to agree and disagree, but geez - can we please do it with respect? When I read this thread lately, I swear I have to look and make sure I have the right state. I know I am new, but I've never seen one go this nasty.
