Anyone know rules for a Homepath Multiple Offer Round? Their web page says all parties will be notified of the offer round. However listing agent says "they don't always inform the agents that there is a multiple offer situation". So I can't even get them to give me info on when the offer round ends. Is this a valid way to do it? When my offer was submitted, we got a response "offer accepted" with no notice of multiple offers.

If they accepted your offer I don't know why you would be concerned about knowing the multiple offer process. It sounds like the negotiating is over and you go from there. Is there something I'm not getting here?

By accepted, I was meaning offer was successfully submitted into their computerized system. Bad wording by me. If there are multiple offers, the response from the computer would be something about multiple offers received.

They don't have to go through a multiple offer process. They can accept one of the offers they received and reject the rest.

They don't have to invite all the offerees to participate in another round of offers, or highest and best.

If there is an offer they don't like they can reject that and only ask certain others for a highest and best.

Typically they take all the offers and pick one. Correct, they dont need to tell you of multiple offers. Just assume there is multiple offers when you place your bid. Especially if it was just listed. You will need to keep in touch with the listing agent to find out if the house sold or not. If the house did sell, and you didn't get it, its safe to assume your offer was not accepted. No, they will not notify you, that your offer was not accepted.

How long will they typically take to accept one of the offers (or wait for a better offer)?
Listing agent does not appear to be responding to phone calls or emails.

Nothing typical these days. 1 day, 1 month, etc. Hah, the listing agent doesn't answer messages, now that is typical on foreclosures. Just keep calling them.

Ah, OP, this must be the house you want and your wife doesn't. You just might have lost both houses and neither of you "wins".

And this is the buyer who was so smart about cancelling an offer in another thread. This offer?

I'm amazed he would bother coming to ask another question here, what with all of the "jerks" around.
