I owned my home prior to marrying. After I got married in 2008 I changed my last name on everything I could think of. Driver's license, passport, bank accounts, credit cards etc. I was going through my safe the other day and found the deed for my house and realized that it is still in my previous name. Does this matter? Do I need to change it? If so, how do I go about it? Do I need a RE lawyer to handle it? Thanks.

You need a quit claim deed. From your maiden name to your married name filed with the recorder's office in your county.

Or wait until you sell.

I would just go to the recorder's office (or equivalent) with your deed and marriage certificate. I am sure the charge will be nominal.
