Hey everyone, I thought I would share my home ground burger recipe video. I use chuck and bacon all ground together. I HOPE it is ok to post this. Was reading through the rules again and did not see anything about video links.

Who else makes fresh ground burgers?

My family makes burger. I buy a whole beef shoulder, USDA choice certified angus. Usually I buy a whole box (40 pounds)

We grind the whole thing and I package some in one pound blocks and some in 6 ounce patties. Vacuum pack and then into the freezer.

If I want bacon burgers, I fry bacon separately and put that on top of the burger, along with melted cheese.

I can get top round and mix the two meats to get leaner burger, but my family likes the ground shoulder plain for both flavor and juiciness.

I rarely cook hamburgers, but when I do I cook them rare. However, I wish my bacon to be fully cooked so I would not mix them.

Though I used the grinder just this morning to make Linguica sausage, I would rarely grind beef for burgers. I prefer to buy the Wagyu available up the road at a market when it’s on sale. Even then expensive, but worth it. I also prefer the bacon to be strips on top of the burger. Now you helped me decide what to have tonight!

My ex- mother- in -law was SO ugly when she came over for dinner, we had to put her food bowl on the floor, or feed her with a slingshot.

BTW, NewJerseyForever, I am a Jersey Boy...Trenton, says the GPS.

It seems like this ground beef would be a really good option for chili.

i also grind chicken from boneless thighs and boneless breasts on sale (less than 1.99lb) and when pork butts are on sale for .99lb to 1.49lb id grind my own pork and make my own sausage ( with a sausge "horn" that came with the grinder.... and i bought the hanks (sausage casings off ebay and also leg's old plantation sausage seasonings off ebay ..
