I have an update
When I told my boyfriend it was gross as I was pointing to the cats that his daughter has that were walking all over the counter top. He thought I meant his dinner. So I told him last night I was referring to the cats. He stopped making me dinner because he thought I didnt like it. So now we have an agreement. They days that I dont cook he is going to take me out to dinner. Only because I dont like to go to his house that often because he has cats and I dont want to risk cat hair in my food.
I didnt cook last nite and he ended up taking me out to dinner.

Reminds me of the Seinfeld episode where Jerry hires the maid to clean his apartment and he winds up sleeping with her and she winds up doing no work for him, yet he still paid her.

See what a little communication can do.
I cook for my bf all the time, and my boys. When it started becoming too expensive buying all the extra food, I let them know. Now every couple weeks they give me $$$ for groceries.

Glad you got that worked out.

A lot of Women (Not all) even in these modern times are offended if you don't automatically offer to pay.
Yet you would be surprised how many Women just don't get this. Its not being cheap, its facing modern economic reality .This is not the 1950's, the middle class is struggling....Really struggling!
Your post proves that Men can be just as ignorant on this issue
Somehow, a man bringing this up and talking about it with his girl is seen with negativity. Having a woman complain about it is completely acceptable as you can see here.

Jeepgirl you deserve better and you know it. Sounds like you are on a one-way street, big time. If I had a gem like you I would worship you, buy your lunch, lick your toes (if you like that)...WHATEVER you want. This guy sounds like a 'taker' and you need to find a 'giver' like yourself. He's a fool and you need to make him one ASAP or YOU'RE the FOOL.

How's this gonna work in practice - are you not gonna eat, or you'll eat and he'll watch you eat, or you won't get together...?

Yeah except at the end when he's trying to give her money from the car and she's walking and the cop pulls him over.

Two "givers" and two "takers" never get together - there has to be balance in the Universe!
