Phil if I could do it, I'd love to be in the mountains have a small cabin or cottage even. A workshop. I'd still want to be connected to the outside world the internet is important. If I am stranded, I'd have food, fuel and provisions. And if I could work from home I would.
I've loved living here way out in the boonies on the side of my mountain fer over 4 lustrums . I see family & friends when i wanna.
I love to go fishin/expore BLM lands/mine eyes see the great beauty of mother nature & her critters.
I am happy with my pickup. A 4 wheeler would be great for exploring. And a horse for chasing cows... I am really getting back to my roots.
Over the years i've bought some lifted, used 4x4 vehicles. I keep them, & have them running well, usually, so i always have a vehicle in an emergency, in the winter.
3- 4x4 pickups
1- 4x4 Jeep cherokee
1-4x4 Chev suburban
& a partridge ina pear tree
Same here, brother. I made one attempt at switching from urban to jungle - it failed miserably because I hadn't fully taken into account how the wife and young son would react once they were there. It looked good on paper and when visiting it a few times in nice weather - after we moved in and were snowed in for 5 days, tensions began to run high. We ended the experiment at that point, but now I wouldn't be adverse to trying it again as a solo act.
