I probably wouldn't have REALLY said that right off the bat, sheesh.. just floating ideas here. Anyways, you guys crack me up sometimes with the responses.

Well, unfortunately, if you say "Hi, my name is...", women find you boring and uninteresting. If you say "You're cute and I'd like to take you out", you're desperate. If you're direct, they think you're creepy (love that one, every guy is creepy if he's not the image they have in their head).

I think you should make the effort. The worst that could happen is she would say 'no'. I agree with a previous poster's suggestion to drop "I think you're cute" part.
