Cant remember when I last had a refund check coming. I have to pay. I do remember the joy of getting that money back though, had the feeling of found money. This does have me curious. I prepay quarterly as well as a lump in Q4 to make up for what I try not to pay in the quarterlies (interest income, not much at my level but every little bit helps) and it turns out I am overpaid by somewhat over 500 dollars. Normally I will get an overpay back quickly but I'm wondering if it will be held up in the same boondoggle?

I think we'll get the refunds as fast as we normally do once the returns are accepted. The only problem is they won't be accepted before Feb 14th if you itemize. That only applies to the fed return.
Because IRS is not ready! Their system has not been updated supposedly because of late changes at the end of last year.
Well I know they aren't ready. I'm just aggravated at the fact that companies like Turbo Tax and even our payroll software vendor at work have all implented the new changes. But the IRS isn't ready??
Yeah, thats what I'm talking about. We do not have state here in Washington. I do itemize so I'm not sure where I sit. Will find out soon beause the tables show the refund coming two weeks from now which would be typical for an overpay and the accountant did not call and say the refund had not been accepted so I think I'm in the clear. Going to call tomorrow and check, this is the first I have heard of it.
I'm close to starting my own thread along the lines of: Are really ALL men as@holes?!
I would love it if you did. Perhaps the guys who aren't will have something to say (if any are available or alive). But the mods would probably shut it down right away.

It would be deleted for gender bashing. But interesting idea.
