From what I've gathered, they can make anywhere from 150k to 200k a year. The males 40k a year.
I would think your sex life would suck as a porn star....?????
Though some of the female port stars you thin would be a little smarter than to sell themselves short on the camera...might be good money but there went your morals...unless you had none to start with.
Anyone ever known of someone who worked in porn? Did they report to enjoy it? or was it "just a job"?
Yeah kinda like work taking the fun out of making money. Honestly a job no matter what is what you make of it.
If you don't like porn don't support the industry. I'd be willing to bet the biggest protesters have the largest stash of porn on their hard drives.
That's not true. I don't support the porn industry and neither does my husband. We stopped watching a few years ago when we realized that we were exploiting others for own entertainment. We weren't comfortable with that.
And before any smartarses say anything:
1. My husband brought the point up to me, not the other way around.
2. We came to this decision *before* I took my one class from which I posted that quote.
Is it explotation when they willingly take the job and are compensated for their work? I am talking porn actresses and dancers? I don't view that as being exploited.
If they are underage or unaware of what they are doing then yes I do take issue with it.
Amber Lynn was one of “the Three Lynns” along with Ginger Lynn and Porsche Lynn. She introduced her brother Buck Adams to the porn industry, but kept their relationship a secret until they were scheduled to do a scene together.

I view it as exploitation when people are lied to (which many of these young people are). I also view it as exploitation when the "chosen" career field is decided on with either lies or a history of abuse or both.
As the thread is 16 pages long, please forgive me if someone has already pointed this out.
Jennie Ketcham (AKA Penny Flame) was on VH-1's Celebrity Rehab and has since been blogging about her life. Going by her early entries there, the industry doesn't sound like something most people would enjoy.

You are having a hard time proving they are lied to. Or the basis of lies is the foundation of it all.

Meh. I've read enough and seen enough in my life to have good reason to believe the purveyors of porn are less than ethical.
I'm not saying porn should be outlawed. I'm not even really saying others shouldn't watch it. I'm simply stating why I don't like, why we don't watch it and why I believe many porn stars do not enjoy the industry.
I don't think most female porn stars enjoy what they do. I'm sure they enjoy the money and the drugs and whatnot, but not the sex.
However, with the internet porn has really diversified. "commercial" porn doesn't dominate now, consumers have access to all kinds of porn including self-made porn and niche porn.
I'm quite sure that some of the women I've seen in porn were enjoying themselves.
One of my favorite niches involves one woman along with a toy, or a machine, and the whole point of the video is the woman getting off.
I've also read that their is a different dynamic in lesbian porn and the women are freer to be "in the moment" if you will.
There's even porn that strives to be "feminist" in that it strives for genuine pleasure on the actresses part and they get to choose their own partners.

I have been to be cynical. So your conjecture is proof?
