I've often wondered what specific event prompted female porn stars to become promiscuous. Most likely, it was some traumatizing incident when they were young, such as being inappropriately touched by someone of trust. It's difficult to conceptualize how a child's mind can become so distorted by being victims of an inappropriate act.
Oh please - this is the oldest misconception in the books, and I'm sure it goes over well in places like the Religion Forum. But here you have a few folks who have an actual connection to the field and know what's what.

I think men like to tell themselves these women 'enjoy' what they do to the same extent as they do, because it makes the porn experience better. Well I don't think so. I DO think they like those kind of job to a certain extent, again, just not like men think.
Also it's been proven (at least in the U.S.) most people that work at their jobs don't like them. They do them for money and benefits....
Money and sex shouldn't be expected and mixed together like that, but if you're going to put your reputation in the toilet anyway, may as well get paid *shrugs*. So the porn stars actually are 'smarter' then the average woman who just gives it away for free left and right and still end up with as bad reputation for the same thing. That's how I see it.

don't they have mandatory testing (not those side jobs) but the major places?
also there's a big debate going on that the CDC/other government agencies should force these companies to require them to use condoms or else shut down the industry. The reason being similar to if you worked in a factory it's a requirement to wear certain uniforms (helmet, ear plugs, etc) because of the risk to life and health factor. Those pro porno stars don't want this because obviously it's going to ahem, affect the sales of their buisness. This whole debate is pretty interesting (IMO)...
