I was an English major and always thought it was my strength, but I scored higher in math on my SATs. It's the rules I learned and loved. The kids in spelling bees don't know all those words; they are able to deduce them because they have memorized the rules.
I'm a left-brainer.
I read somewhere that you'd think that people with a strong grasp of language would excel with things like crossword puzzles and word games like Scrabble, but it's actually people who are good at math who are the best at them.
I was just talking about numbers with a friend of mine...and discussing limits. Everything has the end. For example, there are thousands of shades of color but at some point it stops, the same goes for sounds...However, what doesn't have the end are the numbers...they go on and on forever.

Outer Space goes on for Infinity. It's hard for my mind to grasp that.

There was an old episode of (I think) "The Outer Limits", where a bunch of astronauts journeyed to the end of space - there was a sign there - "DEAD END"

So my boss now thinks I have a creepy fixation on Sexual Assault, because I keep mistaking the acronym SUVs for SVU.
The next time he hassles me over it, I'm going to tell him, "Don't blame me. Blame Law & Order SVU." That show's addicting.
