I was really good in math in high school, I flew through pre-calculus, but decided not to take calculus because although I was good, I hated it. I was never a fan of math, physics or chemistry. More of a English literature and arts.
So the last couple of pages of this thread brought me back to unpleasant memories.
I was just talking about numbers with a friend of mine...and discussing limits. Everything has the end. For example, there are thousands of shades of color but at some point it stops, the same goes for sounds...However, what doesn't have the end are the numbers...they go on and on forever.

I was an English major and always thought it was my strength, but I scored higher in math on my SATs. It's the rules I learned and loved. The kids in spelling bees don't know all those words; they are able to deduce them because they have memorized the rules.
