They shouldn't if acting rationally, but many men are weak to the more savage instincts of our kind and there will likely be jealousy, even if modern men will at least refrain from getting physical about it for the most part, there will still be bad blood lurking in the air...
Agreed..We men are territorial and still maintain the primitive instinct. A few drinks and anger and jealousy and it's fisticuffs. Would suggest searching elsewhere.

But why should SHE care? If the ex gets jealous, and acts foolishly, it's won't be fun - but it's a minor thing. Certainly not a reason to skip out on what could be a good relationship!

It amazes me that anyone would suggest she should give up what could be a good thing, because a five-second ex might get jealous?

People meet each other through other people all the time. Who said you have to meet someone outside of your "circle" to date? I know BROTHERS who dated the same girl, friends come and go. Unless it was a super serious relationship you should have no trouble at all, unless you are both just playing around. Then he might prefer his guy freind to you for in the long run.

Who cares if some boy you briefly dated is a mutual friend? Clearly it wasn't a serious relationship, and part of dating is experimenting and seeing what you like and what you want. If you've found that in this new guy, why pass it up?
Agreed.
