The friendzone is for guys who have it together but don't have the looks. Women never know when they might have to use these guys so they are reluctant to give them the full brush off. Better to string them along.
They might keep you as a FB after break up.
If you have lot of money then it makes up for the looks.

It makes sense to remain friends with someone you are not attracted to. Not sure why some men think women SHOULD be attracted to them. This "friend zone" is a term used by men who can't take rejection.

And in total fairness, some women aren't exactly as kind either as they might think, or as inherently loving as their gender is sometimes made out to be.

The dating game today is so harsh, unforgiving, and Darwinian...make the slightest little misstep on a first date, and the gal you're interested in, writes you off for good. And that is a game that I refuse to play (meaning, I refuse to play games while dating)

Good for you, but men do the same.

True; you're right...sometimes I guess I just wish ppl in general would be a lil more open to the idea of "second chances"...being slower, to judge negatively...giving someone the benefit of the doubt, rather than being automatically suspicious of their intent....

Some people just can't help it. And it's annoying cycle that we put ourselves through.

Actually the term "friend zone" is also used by guys who are successful with women in order to make fun of guys who get put in the friend zone. And for the person on the short end of the stick, the guy who suffers from unrequited love, well it doesn't make sense for that person to remain friends with the object of desire. I don't understand why any guy would stick around a girl he's crazy about while she's rolling around town with her bf who isn't him. Guys like that should do themselves a favor and completely cut off contact because staying in such a situation does nothing but hurt them.

WELL SAID! I wish I could give you more points for that but the darn site won't let me.

Maybe not everyone believes the friend zone exists but for those that do...why do you put certain men there?

Does it have to do with your attraction to the man?

Compatibility/Potential with the man based on personalities, traits, interests, beliefs, etc?

Availability? Maybe you're in a relationship...or he is in one...

Is it mainly one of these? All of the above? Something else?

You like his company but don't want to have sex with him because you are not attracted.
