I'm reading the books right now. As far as Robert Pattison goes, in the movies he's just hot. Yum, hot, and yum some more.

But you are exactly right the book captures the feelings of teenage angst...Twilight clearly captures the elusive fantasy that most girls think is love. It was fun to go back and remember that.
Yep, back when I was a tween it was Duran Duran. I was crazy for them. I'm reverting, de-evolving now lol.

The writing was not spectacular...however...Stephanie Meyers is a fantastic story teller...she certainly has a lot of talent. Some of the plot and writing was irritating. I wanted to chuck book 4 across the room... I had to skip about 200 pages. (Which I almost never do when reading a book.)
Agreed. She's a great story teller. I'm on book two right now. It took me awhile to get through the first part of book one as I found that a bit irritating. As far as vampire novels go, I loved Anne Rice's Vampire chronicles.

LOL! My husband even knows his name. "looking at Edward again, huh?" He's the one that coined my mid-life crisis as a reversal to tweenage.

I like the term "reversal to tweenage", cause that's how I feel as well.
Never thought I'd be enamored by the dude. I am actually 3 years late into the hype, but I get it and I love it and HIM :-)

I don't know but I do LOVE the Nicholas Sparks leading men! I need to find my next book.

Sometimes La-la land is a great escape from reality.

The Twilight series are the equivalent of porn for women. You have an 'ideal' stereotype of a man, E. Cullen, that is described to the highest possible level of detail by the author(his physical appearance mostly), while Bella is given just enough detail so that we know she's female and in love. It gives a chance for women to step into Bella's role and act out the romantic fantasy.

Sorry I have to disagree. Romance novels are the equivalent of porn for women. NOT the Twilight series which is supposed to have a target audience of TEENAGERS.

People aren't going to give up reading fiction novels because it's fantasy are they?

I'm a woman and the only romance novels I do is the vampire crap. I can't help myself! Although, I had to put down the true blood books. The writing was so poor. It actually inspired me. If that woman can make millions with such poor writing ability, maybe I should throw my hat in the ring.

I've never read a romance novel (unless Pride and Prejudice is considered a romance novel?). I think I've been missing out!

Omg you wanna a crazy Book! It's called the Land of the Cat people. These aliens are on this planet as slaves and become in love with theses other Aliens which are the Cat people. A nerdy friend of mine told me that I should read it. I was a bit freaked out. Lol Good romance though.
