I freely admit I know next to nothing of clothes, designer or not, I had thought Prada was girl stuff? I did attend a wedding last time home and a friend had on a suit I thought was really a great suit. He said it was Armani. A guy could wear that without having to fight off all the cute guys.
I'm not obsessed with fashion but I like to dress smartly (and comfortably), so a guy who thinks alike would be fine for me. If it's all about the brand rather than wearing his own style, nah, I think that's a little tacky.
I like smart casual outfits in men. When I've been to Italy ( esp. from Rome upwards), I've always loved the male fashion there (except for the cases when it gets too flashy).
Athough even less fashion-minded than me, my SO likes to be well dressed and he has very good taste picking his clothes, Prada or not, so that's perfect.
