I just can't imagine two shy people communicating, especially enough to actually get to know eachother, and start a relationship.

It happens.

They are usually very relieved to be with another person who understands where they are coming from, and then open up more and more to each other.

I just hope it happens soon...I just hope it does.

Yes they can. While I am talkative, I am actually a bit shy. My honey is a very quiet and reserved person and we work well together.

Somehow, things just work their way out, if things are meant to be...

Shy people do have to work a little harder at putting themselves out there to meet others, so I do hope you are making the effort?

Joining groups can sometimes really help you overcome some of the shyness, or at least put you in the company of others with a similar interest.

Have you made the effort to do that?

Remember, the world won't come to you honey, you have to get out into the world

I'm painfully shy. The people that I get on best with tend to be outgoing - mostly those with sales jobs. With other shy folks, we have trouble getting the ball rolling. And I feel a bit more inhibited than I already was. Those outgoing types draw me out of my shell and they love making the first move. But not too outgoing, because that becomes overbearing and I won't be controlled or overshadowed.

I was going to write a post similar to this one ^ , but I couldn't say it any better than lovesMountains has.

Possible, but not likely. There needs to be balanced. If someone is introverted, they would best compliment someone that's extroverted and vice versa. I'm introverted(though not shy) and do best with those that are extroverted.
