This could be because many men lie about their height.

I am exactly 5'5".

I met a man who said he was 5'7". I could see wayyyy over the top of his head, and I had on flats. In fact, he barely came up to my chin!

So he was obviously 5'3" or even 5'2", yet listed his height at 5'7".

Men say women lie about their age and weight. Women say men lie about their height. It's a viscious circle.

There were guys who told me they were 5 11 and when they told me that I was standing eye to eye with them and I'm not 5 11. Not sure who measured them.

Meh, there's a lot worse things than a lot of things people are cut from the running for on online dating. Height, weight, race, income...none of those things are the marks of being a bad person and yet you're going to be culled from a lot of people's lists. I can certainly see why a person might not be interested in dating divorced people, particularly if they are younger and have never been married themselves.

So what you are saying is that she automatically assumed that I was lying about my height is it? Well in that case, I would really start doing so and ramp up my height 2 inches to 5'10" then. Being honest online doesn't seem to find any suitors as per your observation in that case.

Thats for sure, but I never pay much attention to listed weight and age, I know what I like when I see it and it doesn't have a number attached to it. I had a 55 year old woman pm me even though I have 40 +/- 10 years as my preference. If she didn't have her age listed I would have thought early 40's. Even though out of my listed range if she lived close I would have asked her out in a second and found out if there was chemistry in person
As for as my listed height I round up a quarter inch and round down 10 lbs on my weight. I'm evil like that

I thought it was Tall, dark and handsome?

If you are Caucasian over 6 feet tall then you will have good success.

You won't have trouble with South and East Asians girl if you are 5'8". I am 5'8.5". I think women like their guy about 4 inches taller then them.

Men have built in heel soles. You give yourself about 2-3".

I'll respond to a guy who's legitimately 5'8. I'll go as short as 5'7. It's funny, I used to say I hated short men and would never date one. Then I fell head over heels for a guy who was 5'7 and never thought twice about his height. When I search online, I'll go as low as 5'7, but not lower. I'm 5'2 and don't want to date another short guy. I've dated guys 6'3 and up and prefer not to do that again. Actually, I prefer, 5'9-5'10, dark hair and eyes, fit, and good looking. I'll even date out of my race/ethnicity for that requirement. I just like 'em dark. Maybe because I'm fair. I don't know, but it's what I've liked since I was an adolescent and it hasn't seemed to change. However, I noticed some Middle Eastern/Nepali/Egyptian men with light eyes, dark skin and hair are sometimes absolutely gorgeous. In that case, I'd for one of those guys with light eyes.
