No touching what so ever unless she is really slutty or just plastered drunk in which case go for home base! But a "nice gal" oh no.... say adios goodnight and be on your way!
It kind of depends what led up to the first date. Minimal touching like touching the elbow in a protective way is nice. No hand holding for me on the first date. And a single kiss at the end of the first date is a sign that a second and more romantic date would be welcomed in the future.
Since the what not to discuss thread was brought up I thought I would ask what you would consider appropriate physical behavior for a 1st date.
Which of these would be ok or not ok for a 1st date:
Kissing (on the lips)
Kissing (on the cheek)
Holding hands
Minimal touching - hair, arms etc.
Here in the show-me-state, we try to be gentlemen, but make it a fun evening as well. In addition to all the above, we like to offer to pick her up, and try to guess her weight. If she will arm-wrestle with you, it should be standard procedure to open her can of beer for her. These things are important, and should not be over-looked. Make it a date to remember!!
Because I feel that mutual respect is the basis of a lasting relationship, none of these 4 are appropriate on the first date.
