Do you judge a person by his/her handshake?
I like a strong handshake and feel like puking if someone gives me a limp handshake.
How is your handshake?

I'd be more worried about someone with dirty, sweaty hands - then a strong or weak handshake.

I don't know how my handshake is, never thought about it!

hmm. I just shook my own hand, so I would have something credible to add to this thread.

2 men shaking : strong and firm (some guys see it as a contest... male versus ego.. my hand is bigger, my hand is stronger, my grip is more serious o.O)

1 man shaking 1 woman : ...really depends on the scenario. do you shake hands on a date? the man should "tone down" the firmness. dont' be a limp wimp... but dont break her hand off just to impress her either!! man shaking woman's hand at like...work or business deal? firm, but not overbearing.

shaking a woman's hand, is a really grey line. that's women, being the career business woman style... some men don't know how to handle it still, that go back to dating the days when women held out their hand, men shoke hands with men, men kissed the hands of women or merely extended their arm as a superior form of escort.

I don't shake another woman's hand if I can help it... it still feels weird.

shaking a man's hand, he better have a firm grip, but if my hand is still throbbing when he's done...there's a problem!

Before being a Realtor, it seems as if men would only shake hands with a woman if she offered her hand first, then it would be just a firm, quick handshake. Now, it seems as if everyone in my business feels compelled to offer their hand. It does feel strange shaking another womens hand. I grew up in a semi-southern household and most women gave a peck on the cheek or a quick little almost hug type gesture.

I do not like the wimpy handshake from either men nor women.

I'm a firm shaker, shaking a man's hand tells me something about themselves, ie. confidence, personality, etc.

I only shake women's hands on initial introductions, from there on its a gentle hug and I try discretely to sense their fragrance or hair scent, which is a rare occurance.

I like a firm handshake from a man and choose to shake a woman's hand lightly with less palm to palm contact. Shaking a woman's hand fully and with a firm grip feels awkward for me.
