If she got a museum job w/just a BA in Art History, she'd doing well. Just goes to show that a BA can get you a job in your field, even today. There's a thread on the Education forum that's raging on about how a BA in the humanities is a waste of time and money.
I've found that people who prefer to bury themselves in books in all there free time tend to choose a hard back over a warm body and distance themselves.
So, even if I tried to be charming, I probably wouldn't make it past the next page.
You'd make her laugh. Plus I bet you'd be able to talk to her about some of her interests--history, or whatever. You have a brain on you, Froggie. Give her one of your V-Day brownies, and she'd be putty in your hands...
OP, there is nothing wrong with a smart and intellectual girl. But there has to be some balance. If she came home and lost herself in a book every night and rarely conversed, that would be a lousy relationship for most people. If you are fine with it, then you have your answer to your own question.
I prefer balance. My wife can do a little of everything. From sports to reading to having fun to working, she can do it all.

That she doesn't converse with him (or her) doesn't seem to be his (or her) complaint. He (or she) seems to be concerned that the girl doesn't watch enough TV
OP, if she buries her nose in a book even when you're around, it may mean she's bored with you. If she does that mainly when she's at home alone, then--who cares? The important thing is the quality time with you. How's that going?

If she's buried in a book, she probably would get upset if I interrupted her reading. That's a pretty common outcome in my time of speaking to women/people who bury themselves in a book.
My brain can't break through the wormiest of the bookworks.

You're assuming she'd pull out a book even when in someone else's company. That would be rude. We have yet to ascertain from the OP whether that's the case when he's around.
We usually talk about jokes and sex. I am trying to convince my girlfriend to spend less time reading her books, so she could watch TV shows, movies, and concerts with me. She then complains that I'm controlling her and forcing her to do "stupid" activities she has no interest in.

Or, if she reads because he is watching TV.
