I've never seen this discussed before and I thought it might be a good light hearted topic. Does anyone else have trouble eating on dates? I have a really sensitive stomach and am prone to problems anyway, so add in to the nervousness of a date and I really lose my appetite. I never want my dates to think I'm strange for not eating very much, but I find it really hard to eat on dates! Anyone else? Would you think your date was odd if they didn't eat much while you were out (assuming you went out to dinner or lunch)?
When I go on a date I'm interested in getting to know the person. I'm less interested in measuring their food intake, although I guess that would be a small part of getting to know a person.
I'm usually a sharer when it comes to eating out. Buy one meal and we both eat it. Helps me keep from getting fat and saves a bit of dough as well.
I think it would be best if you explained to him (I assume you're a straight chick - sorry if I'm wrong) that you're sensitive to restaurant food and that's why you're not eating too much. Most guys appreciate candid honesty. If you don't explain it, he might think you're just uncomfortable or uneasy with him and that's never a good way to begin.
Best to be upfront with the guy about your situation.
Personally, I want to find someone who's willing to eat and try different foods. I had a relationship with a woman who would only order specific items from any restaurant she went to was chickened out on trying different food. It really turned me off.
And if I'm ordering a steak dinner while you're ordering a small garden salad as your entree, I'm probably not going to see you again. I don't like that at all.

What's wrong with a fresh vegetable based meal?
There are many ways to prepare a delicious salad.
It doesn't bother me, because most dates I have gone on, most women don't really eat much, so I am used to it. Now me on the other hand, no shame in my game, if I am hungry I am going to eat
