I used to live with former biker. He was still pretty biker but he HATED strip clubs because every stripper he had ever dated (and there had been a bunch) had hated men. He said there was something wrong with any industry where you end up loathing your clientele.

The ironic part of this? When we went to a strip club together due to his really messed-up family reunion (we went with his father and cousin!), the fact that he was with me and obviously not thrilled to be there (and thus scaring everyone with his scowly face) meant that the strippers congregated around us on their breaks. Every guy in there was wondering what his secret was - or figured he was one of the bouncers. And I had a blast chatting with the girls all night.

Well, we haven't heard from any strippers, yet.

Strippers often have partners.

I have a friend who married a stripper. He didn't meet her as a customer.

She's sweet and not like the stereotypes you read about here.

She is a wholesaler buyer for a department store, now, and she's very good at it.

Unfortunately, there may be this view of them as trash not deserving of respect rather than mothers supporting their children...etc.
You are such a gentleman!

Come to think of it, it may not be particularly more chivalrous to say, "Please take your clothes off for money," than, "Will you take your clothes off for money?"

You did note the please though, right? That's politeness. Politeness is very important when your requesting that a strange woman take her clothes...of for......money

I guess that's kind of like saying that, if you remove a tablespoon of salt from the ocean, there will indeed be less salt in the ocean...but nevertheless, it is true...so there! Hah!

I can't see how they don't however I've heard that high priced escorts say that they get treated nicer by their Johns than their real boyfriends so maybe not the high priced escorts.

I personally know ex strippers and prostitutes and some hate men, others don't. It's more of an individual thing than the OPs blanket assumption about a whole group of people. And by the way, many strippers look down on prostitutes so don't lump these two professions together if you're in their company.

I imagine they regard men as means to an end instead of people. I guess you can say that is a form of disrespect but I'm not sure it goes as far as hating all men. I don't know any strippers personally but I have known really hot women who juggled a few sugar daddies at the same time. The attitude wasn't hate because that shows a lack of power. In fact these women felt very empowered and the men were just their pawns. In fact, they enjoyed being with their men as long as they got showered with gifts and money.

Strippers and prostitutes, I would think, would develop a rather jaded, cynical, and negative view towards men. It's only natural. Not saying all, but I think most. If you feel you're constantly being used for sex day in day out you might begin to see men as lecherous, pathetic and one-dimensional, and lose respect for them. Of course many women CHOOSE this career path and some actually enjoy it or don't mind it and still don't think differently of men, but I've heard anecdotally that many prostitutes and strippers eventually get so turned off men, because they associate them with work and loveless or even pleasureless sex, that they become lesbians. Is there truth to that?

Do you think many strippers/prostitutes become resentful towards men in general?

My friend who was both and is still a prostitute does not resent men at all and this has been her career choice since she was 18 and is now about 48 and still going strong. She hasn't quite met her retirement fund goal yet, about another 2 years and she should be able to retire comfortably.
