I joined a couple sites; match and pof. Ugh. Not attracted to a single woman on any of them. I guess if they were prettier they wouldn't need to join a dating site to find a partner. I guess if I'm going to find a partner online I'll have to lower my standards for physical looks.
Anybody else find this to be true?
How about you just meet people naturally, then, if online isn't working for you, instead of being condescending and snotty about it with the commentary about "lowering standards?" No one is holding a gun to your head telling you that you have to use a computer to meet women. Indeed, there are some who would say that's a pretty lame-ass way to meet people.
Oh, and not for nothing, but everyone who has ever met me from online has told me, "My god, your photos do not do you any justice." I just don't photograph well.
But hey, your loss is another man's good fortune and surprise.
This was short lived and I realized it was wrong. I then went back to church and confessed this because I felt horrible.
OK, I can understand doing something like that--I ever have but we've all done things we're ashamed of. What I don't understand is the need to tell everyone about it.

I just mentioned it really because there are people like me on these sites (mostly the free ones).
Well, since you're clearly talking to me, I'll agree. In real life, I'm an introvert and I also am moving to a new place. But that's also not to say that it's usually the "last gasp" of relationships, even in 2013. Like, nobody starts out with online dating. That's all I mean. Is everyone on it desperate and ugly? No, but as a guy I would say that it's fair to say it's pretty disproportionately weighted towards that end. (I'm sure women feel that way about the guys on there, too, but I'll leave that to them to say.)
Don't ever, EVER assume that.
I know guys that have dated over 100 women from OLD dating alone. Why do they do it ? Because women chase them in real life, and women chase them online. OLD is just another avenue to meet people.
Anyone that thinks people that use OLD have 'issues' or suck at dating are just wrong. Just like IRL, the social skills of any person can vary, regardless of whether you are at work, the park, the bar, where ever.
OLD was looked down upon Untill around 2003 I would guess. It is 2013, and like tattoo's, almost everyone is OLD.

yeah, right.
Last year I met this Canadian chick from ottawa on skiing forum I visit a lot. We skyped a little bit, then she invited to me to come up there. I had never been to Ottawa before so I figured why not. She turned out to be super hot in person. We had 3 days of wild sex. I bought 2 boxes of cuban cigars and came back to the States. Mission: Successful!
