36 year old female, no pets, no kids, never been married. I've been celibate for three years now and I'm going crazy. I've been looking and looking for a relationship with a nice, clean guy that I have chemistry with to date and trust enough to be intimate with to no avail.
I've repeatedly thought about having a one night stand, but I have too much fear around the risks (physically, mentally, emotionally). I know that would leave me in a bad place. But I also wonder if it would help get me out of this dry spell!??
Dating has been very frustrating. Enough bad experiences to write a book. For every month I date, I take sometimes 3-4 off to reset myself.
I don't know what to do anymore as I'm getting more frustrated and my toys aren't cutting it anymore. What's a lady to do?!!
Surely if your criteria is "nice, clean guy" it wouldn't be that difficult to find a suitable partner? Where do you live and what are you really looking for beyond "nice" and "clean"?

OP, you may be setting your standards a little too high. Chemistry is essential but understand that there are gonna be flaws in every man. I'm a little older and I have a difficult time, but not as much as I used to. Just go with the flow.
I'm sure that you are way too selective. You could have sex within a week or two if you really focused on having sex. Some selectivity is good, but I'm betting you've passed up some decent men over the past 3 years.

@metaphysique - I live in the SW desert. I've been looking for a good guy I can settle down with. My last date, the loser was great on paper, but caught up in a lot of drugs. Plus he was short and ugly. Have another thread about the experience. Just want a non-religious, child-free, cigarette-free, drug-free, professional, atheist who doesn't want kids to settle down with. Have a birthday coming up, g#d d!mn it!
@London Cowboy - Yes! Most of my dates are online. I also do kickboxing, bookstores, concerts, wine tasting, lectures at the University and random classes offered at the library.
