My association with some one is based on character, not looks.
However ,someone of good character , that cares as much about their health and fitness, has far more to offer, than a pretty face that will fade as time goes by.
The problem is,
People that are desperate, say any thing for approval ,the perfect "YES MAN". From which there is no honesty, but a temporary compromise.

The other end is those the have no real opinion but choose the opposite side of the issue just to be controversial .

The ideal are those that are not threatened by answering what they actually think, knowing what they think, having already put thought in the subject.
I have only known a few women that are this way, and I am very attracted to them ,but they are married, and I would not interfere with that.
These are not fashionably beautiful ,though they do take care of them selves, but their character more than makes up for it.

Pretty/average is highly subjective.

@anyrate, Ive dated my share of gorgeous/stunning faces (blah). Ill take a less than pretty face with a healthy slamming body any day of the week; if my arm was twisted, of course.

Ditto. I've always been a sucker for a pretty face.

Yes but that body will fade away too.

Here in SoCal, soooooooooo many dudes are handsome.

Just. So. Many. Dudes.

And pretty women too, of course, but as a woman, when I see a "pretty woman" I realize she is also wearing makeup and so on. Most men (at least most men I know) don't wear makeup and so what you see is what you get...and what I see out here is, holy moly, HANDSOME dudes.

Thank you, men of SoCal. We women appreciate it.

Default it is not a problem (for you)

beggar can't be a chooser.

You can not find a girl with look and body, you settle for the face.

Interesting that so many are interpreting the "body" aspect of unattractive as "fat". I always thought it was about no curves vs. curves, in women. Neither of those involves being overweight, necessarily.

Actually, you can lose "ugly". Have you seen the before and after pix of Chelsea Clinton?

There's nothing wrong or unattractive with an average face, though. When I see an attractive face, the person isn't atttractive because he looks like a Tommy Hilfiger model, but something about his countenance and overall approachability.
