They usually have less than 10 posts
They create a thread then never respond, or respond once or twice
If its their first post and its a controversial topic chances are its a troll
Spelling and grammer is usually pretty bad
Isn't it a little guy who lives under a bridge that billygoats cross? Just kidding!
There's a guy who actually posts his real name on three other forums I visit. He is a troll with a capital T. He started out on one forum and when people started leaving because of him, another forum was created by one of the members of the original forum. Then Mr. Troll got into that forum. Some other members of both forums created yet a third forum and this guy managed to get into that forum as well, but at first he used a different name. Now we all know who he is.
Yes, but that's not what it means in this instance. To "troll" also means to go fishing for something. In this case, trolls are people that are fishing for some kind of reaction or attention.
An Internet troll, or simply troll in Internet slang, is someone who posts controversial and usually irrelevant or off-topic messages in an online community, such as an online discussion forum, with the intention of baiting other users into an emotional response or to generally disrupt normal on-topic discussion.

hmmmm, sounds like you described me....
hey, I really didn't believe a troll was someone who lived under a bridge
Honest!
Hey, I just woke up and thought of another crude, (but somewhat true) analogy of a troll. You know how some person will walk into a crowded room, ease out a long stinky fart, then walk out, and have everybody blaming it on each other, while the real culprit is laughing their tail off!!

FABULOUS!!!
But, I would add that the "culprit" would find the nearest window to watch what transpires. After all, what fun is it if you can't relish in the aftermath?
