I've always known as my closest mates ( more like a big brother ) birthday is on Valentine's Day even as a kid he thought he was gods gift with the ladies so I didn't hear the end of it... " oh it must be fate that I was born on this day " LMAO
I'm not good with birthdays, anniversaries, or any romantic celebrated days.
This year, I've decided that I want to spend Valentine's Day celebrating myself. I'm doing a chocolate fast, signing up for a heated yoga class and going all out on bigeyeglam.com while their Valentine's sale lasts. That way, I'm emerging from Valentine's day with as a healthier, happier person in the possession of some mega glam bags. I call that a Valentine's Day success.

haha, nice idea. Whatever makes you happy.
I will not be single this Valentine's Day but he is off the hook. I don't celebrate V day at all and I made that clear.
I usually stay off the roads that day if I can or enjoy an empty gym (great time to meet other singles btw).
Well, being in a relationship doesn't guarantee you anything on V-day or B-day, either. Some guys are clueless that way. Or in your student days or coffee barista days, if you have a bf, he's likely to be just scraping by, too, so buying you stuff isn't on his mind or in his budget. It's mainly about having good company on those special days.
OP, what have you done for the guys you were with, if you were with them on their birthday?

A homemade meal and one single rose or a balloon from the dollar store go a long way.
This Valentines Day a couple of very sweet men invited me to meet them for dinner, and I am glad they thought of me. I am looking forward to a delightful evening of conversation, probably wine.
