I problem with such statements are mostly in the tone, as if I can pick up a knew girlfriend while picking up a gallon of milf and some lucky strikes. yes there was a time I could do that, it was between 1986 and 1991.
This is true, however there are times that maybe that tone is needed. Especially if someone is constantly crying over it, and talking about it, yet not making an effort to change it. And I have been there, hell I'm there now, but I have to and others have to move on, and it may not mean moving on to another relationship, but just getting your life back in order and finding some things to get your mind off of being single.

problem is when the happiest times of your life are when you are in a relationship what could possibly take your mind off of your loneliness except it ending, and as far as doing something about it, I'm on every dating app know to man.
It's very difficult to not only meet someone that is available, but to meet someone that you have good chemistry with, have a mutual attraction, respect, etc.. This only gets harder as you get older.
I currently am in a relationship with a beautiful woman and our love life is incredible, but the chemistry is just not there I'm afraid.

Sadly I don't see it progressing long-term unfortunately although we've been "working" on things.
ultimately being a single guy especially is not all that bad. There are certain freedoms that are awarded that aren't otherwise. Sexually if you take care of yourself you can find someone to satisfy. Also there is a peace of mind that's beyond compare to replace all of the fighting that is initiated upon you.
So my advise.. don't do the "grueling search" for a partner. Find peace in yourself, pick up hobbies, get out, be social, etc.. Respect who you are and don't succumb to people attempting to dominate and manipulate you. If a relationship happens it happens. Don't lose yourself.
In the end, we all die alone.
