A story about a 60 year old woman looking for love and succeeding. Her perseverance was rewarded.
I loved this passage:
Quote:
I put on a cute outfit and face and met enough men to form several minivans, telling myself “you never know,” even though you do. My first JDate talked so much about his ex-wife she could have passed the salt. Many lied. A “close to 55” man on paper became “closer to 75” at the cafe. Too cheap to invest in a meal, despite our meeting at the dinner hour, another told me to order coffee or one glass of wine.
I think that is a very encouraging story. I know a woman 63 who after she retired met a man 15 years her junior and they have been married happily for 3 years now, so it happens.
women are relentless shoppers they will examine everything in the store item by item b4 they buy.
they do the same with men. i personally know a woman who did over 450 internet starbuck dates, rejected all of them and every one of them met the written criteria. internet suitors beware. auctions know how to get people to compete get excited and pay too much for too little. dont let it be done to you.

Love doesn't have age but she's not the oldest woman. My father's older sister who's 70 years old and been a widow for a couple of years, found a boyfriend just recently.
One of the last guys I dated did nothing but talk about his former girlfriend that he had lived with for 17 years until she suddenly died. He drove me by the house he had lived in with her all those years but got thrown out of as soon as she died by her family.. (Why did I need to see the house?)
She was a former model... why didn't I wear make up? She really dressed up.... why didn't I dress up like a model? She always drove a nice car, why didn't I drive a new car?
After the first date it just got worse so after the third date that was the end of him for me.. Three months after I quit accepting calls from him, I got word he had gotten married. YAAAAAA!
While the story got all these sweet comments "aaaww, sooo beautiful," what stands out to me is that the lady basically went through the same crap women of every age seem to be going through these days.

She just happened to get lucky. That's all.
She certainly did luck out. If her witticisms are based in fact and she actually DID go on to the guy about colonoscopies on the first date, then she's fortunate she found "the one" -- I don't think many, if any, others would have her!
Besides, the majority in her age group seem to be contacting the likes of 45-year-old me.
