Tonight I filed my bird's toenails. This was quite an accomplishment because he hates it when I trim them. I thought trying a different approach might be better, but I didn't think he'd actually like it. Not only did he relax, he made one of his little "heh-heh" giggle sounds. So I tickled his feet and he kept laughing!

Then we had movie night, with one bird in my lap (the ticklish one) and one wedged between my chin and my collar bone. They both like hanging out, just mellow, watching TV and occasionally babbling or preening. The ticklish one reminds me to keep petting him by telling me to "step up" if I slack off. Then, if I just rest my hand, he'll lean over and oh, so gently pull my finger toward him with his beak as though to say, "More. You aren't done yet."

They've got me trained.

I weighed myself and saw that I'd dropped a couple of pounds. I announced it to Miss Chamataka and she told me she didn't want me to get too skinny. I promised her that that's not gonna happen, she's gonna have muscles to play with

Chat in IM with an online friend (no sexual or romantic connotations)

Talked to the family on the phone

Took a 1 hour walk around the neighborhood

Watched documentaries on youtube

Read a "hard sci-fi" website.

NOTE: I would have gone on a 4 or 5 mile bike ride today if I didn't have a scalded arm (hot water blisters, as in boiling hot). Still, this does count because it's a fairly regular activity with me.

Is that what she's gonna play with?

Think Antlered Chamataka on a platter. She can use her fork and pick whichever piece she desires

That was mine for today too! First mow of the season. I was careful to miss the tulips and assorted flowers that are starting to bloom. Spring is really lovely.
