Driller, when you say professional, do you mean in a studio or having someone do photojournalistic shots?
Call me crazy (wouldn't be the first time), but I'd much rather see a regular old self portrait then a professional shot. I think professional shots can be misleading.
I think for the purpose of providing a picture to an online friend, the goal should be a picture that closely reflects your personality. I think a professional picture is definitely not the way to go, you're not trying to impress her, you're trying to introduce yourself (physically). You are an attractive person so it's not like there's a bad picture of you posted, however, when I looked at the pictures I liked the 4th picture because there's something about it that says sweet and sincere (yeah I know, corny). I also like the 3rd picture because a 6 pack is always nice to look at .

Good Luck.
I agree. I would not do a professional pic.
I, too, like the 4th pic for the same reason. And of course the 3rd pic goes without saying, but I think it can backfire on you in that it makes you look a bit ostentatious.
Do you have any pics that someone else may have taken of you (but not necessarily professional)? Do you have any photos with you and your friends together?
From an aesthetic view, the tilt of the head and positioning is too extreme...too much angle of the head/ neck/ shoulders...he needs something more natural, not as close up if he is doing it himself and better lighting...something softer...is it overcast in your city today? If so, PERFECT for a good shot without the glare...
Go outside, have someone take a pic there, or put the cam on a tripod and set the timer. You'll have a much better pic for online. If I had to pic one, I'd pic #5 - but they are too close up - kinda distorts the face a bit.
(Screw the professional shot - that would be a dumb move - no one wants to see professional pics online.)
I like the 4th and 5th pics the best out of the lot. Don't post the third pic, goodness knows what you'll attract with that one, then again I'm a bit older but I always reject guys online who have the shirtless muscle shots, a turnoff for me. I figure, if we go out long enough, I'll see it all.
I also think you could do better if you have a friend come over and take a few more from different distances/angles. Professional shots wouldn't be bad, but there should still be a mixture of casual shots with the professionals.
