In this "me-me" society how would one expect for marriage partners to take care and look after each others best interests?

Because we live in a superficial, narcissistic, disposable society where even family is disposable. We want instant gratification with everything to be easy; don't want to have to work too hard for anything (relationships are work--when one doesn't work on it's own, throw it out with the trash and get a new one).

BTW - I have a right to my own opinions even if to you it seems like a Edgar Allen Poe moment. So I'll continue to be an Edgar Allen Poe (as far as you're concerned) with or without your approval to stand-up to what IMO is.

You don't see me making "snarky" comments against any of your postings that I've read that I don't particularly agree with as you have a right to your opinions too and to respect them.
