I'm interested to hear what others think of DINKS--double income, no kids. They take vacations whenever/wherever they want, have plenty of extra money to spent on eating out, entertainment, and can live in the geographical locations they want (for instance in the big cities) because they don't have to worry about schools.

If thats the lifestyle they want, why not? It's not for me - but if I didn't want kids it sounds like the way to go.

As long as they're not CBC and calling my kids nasty things like "crotch droppings", I , honestly, don't think about them. Why would I? They really don't have anything to do with me. They live their life and I live mine.

It's looking like that's the way DH and I are heading.

The more I see people with their kids, the more I realize..maybe that's just not for me. I don't think I have that kind of patience.

My girlfriend and her husband are too. They make great godparents though.

My wife an I are DINKS. We love our neices and nephews. Not planning on having any children. I know I will regret it someday, but my patience level won't allow it and down time is important to me. Selfish, yes.

Raising children is the most important job in the world. Not sure we are up to it. But there is a void, knowing that we are missing out.

Reps for such an honest post. My girlfriend and her hubby love kids, they just decided that right now they're not for them. He's trying to get his law degree and she's a nurse. They spend a lot of time with my son though. Her husband actually took him to almost every Magic home game and any football game he can manage to get tickets to. Later this summer they're taking him to Myrtle Beach because "they think he'll love it" lol
