Just what is the (current?) acceptable definition(s) of what are Head Games?

For Decades, I had believed that "Head Games" were subliminal dominance behaviors that guys with male dominance-control issues would try to force the female to perform so as to prove the Alpha-Male is being given his due submissive deference by the female. Seriously, I thought it was the inviting a woman to his place, and then fully expecting her to buy food, cook, and clean the entire kitchen after diner. And while doing all this, be on call to fetch him his beer while he watches TV. To me that what Head Game were.

Come to read on another forum, that Head Games now are considered to be:
1- the dating several women at the same time, and not being up front about it. (making each woman believe guy is dating only them.)
Or
2- it is going out on two or three dates with a woman, getting sex on last date, and then just disappears without any trace.
Or
3- the other issue: a guy is claiming to want LTR, but he really only wants a FWB situation, or worse a FWB-on call 24/7 (immediate sevice response to on-demand call) relationship, per the claim.

Isn't #1 also being a 'Player?'
Isn't #2 also called anther term? I thought the term was was 'Bedpost Notcher' or something?
And isn't #3 most post-adolescent guys wet-dream? As in Free Milk, and no sharing the closet space? As in immature?

Am I missing something as to why the definition got changed while I wasn't dating for a decade or two?

TIA

I would agree with #2 and #3 also being Head Games.

Head Games are the guy saying I really like you, had a great time with you last weekend, and then he waits 3-4 weeks to call you (or whenever he gets around to it) and then does it again. And also pretends to not understand if she is upset that he didn't call in the intervening time period. Head Games = Mixed Signals, although among those ladies who have learned we know that Mixed Signals = Run like your life depended on it!

Head Games come from guys who are immature, don't know what they want, have never had a normal, stable relationship, or, yes, just like playing the ladies because, unfortunately, they can.

The original definition you stated above is just an a$$hole.

Its everything you mentioned and could probably add to the list. Is this a hypothetical question? Just
curious.

Hypothetical.

I have been trying to learn what all the code words, acronyms, and abbreviation used are. I found the Urban Dictionary (dot com) is my friend. Couldn't find a listing for Head Games that made sense. I trust if you are curious you can look it up yourself. In context where I heard it, Urban Dictionary's definition was just plain out of whack (synchronization).

Like I said, found a discussion on another board from long time ago. Wanted a broader base to ask the question.

Thanks for the replies.
