He could pissed about the economy, healthcare, the recent Yankees win, could have been preoccupied about where he was going to watch the game today, or the fact that the nacho cheese dip he had for lunch was really impacting his bowels, or maybe he was thinking "dang, no deoderant on her again..phew"...or damn, her breathe stinks like dog doo-doo. Or maybe he was thinking about something completely different...like...
Do my best to keep it light. Would hate to tell her it's a tell tale sign he's been cheating for awhile and beat the guts of his new girlfriend all afternoon long prior to coming home.
It means its time for a check up if it keeps happening. I think it really depends on the guy's age and health. If its not the health, beating it makes the mantenna less sensitive to vaginal sex. So if he was doing that during the rift....maybe he was having angry love myself sessions...
Did he go too long without "finishing"? Sometimes guys will purposely last longer in order to keep it going, and if they pass their peak or climax, they get overstimulated and all the stroking in the world isn't going to get the job done. Does he stop himself from "finishing" just to go longer and get you off first? That could be a possibility.

As others have mentioned there are a lot of different reasons for it. Could be a health thing, might be that he had his mind somewhere else, could be that he missed his opportunity.
If you're concerned, best thing to do is talk to him about it.
