I heard this on the radio this morning on the way to work and thought I would pose the question to my fellow CD'ers.

Let's say you're dating someone and you're going over to their place for the first time. What are some things that would be a turn off for you to see at the person's place?

Would you continue to date the person after seeing their place depending on what you saw?

Have you ever been in this situation before?

This questions applies to both men and women.

Dirty dishes in the kitchen sink. But dirty laundry not so much, especially if the underwear is showing on the laundry basket, I might pick it up and smell it.

I wouldn't go out with somebody who had a super messy/dirty place.

Drug paraphernalia and empty beer bottles strewn about.

Place looks like a tornado went through it. I don't mind a place looking lived in, but not like a disaster area.

Too many pets, and the place smelling like a pet shop.

Bug infested...though that wouldn't be a deal breaker, but I wouldn't be hanging out at her place again.

Yeah good point Coolhand, if there was a dirty bong on the coffee table that would be a no.

I'm kinda irked by people who tape or pin posters/pictures to walls too. BUY A FRIGGIN FRAME ALREADY, college is over!

- used condom wrappers or female's clothing

I would definitely be turned off if her place smelled like one big litter box and I've actually experienced that. My Mother has cats but her house never smells bad from them so it's not that I don't like cats.
Another thing I find irritating for some reason are women who collect tons of cutesy knick knack stuff and have it all over the house. It just strikes me as something that a child would enjoy instead of an adult woman. It would be like a grown man collecting toy firetrucks and then breaking out a fireman's hat when he plays with them.

Well, if she caught you doing that I suspect that your first visit to her place would be a very short one.
