So May 21st came and went without incident. The BIG one that is...
Mr. Camping was nowhere to be found for a couple of days, I guess so that his failed prediction could be all sorted out. How do you explain to the thousands of followers that you duped out of hundreds of thousands of dollars (and all of their wordly possessions), that you were wrong?
Well, apparently, you resurface and say, "Actually, The World Will End On October 21"
Clearly, even after this second failed attempt to predict the Savior's return and the date of the world's judgement, he still has some left. He hasn't learned a thing.
I hope and pray that his followers have indeed learned that he is NOT hearing from God, and they should ONLY trust in what His Word says. Not on the calculations of man.
Perhaps he should use a different book to calculate the date for end of the world. The one he's currently using has already been demonstrated to yield nothing but erroneous information.
Christian morality:Hoping for the end of the world in which millions, nay, billions die in death and despair and are sentenced to eternity to suffer endlessly in a torture chamber that would make Hitler blush all for having the audacity to question a 2000 year old book that's based on exaggerated claims and dubious evidence.
I suspect many of his original sheep will continue to follow him. They have invested too much to go back. Now they are like compulsive gamblers having to put more money in the slot machine, in hopes of winning their loses back. He can now do this a hundred times or more and his hooked fish will still take the bait.
Any simpleton who has read any literature of the Abrahamic faiths knows that "No one will know the Day or hour" the simple fact they claim to know is evidence they are a false prophet.
Unfortunately religious zealots are easily led. This is in all religions. Being a "believer" can lead them down the wrong path because they are susceptible to anything that strengthens their beliefs, with or without actual proof to back it up.

Well . . . at least he is only taking their money . . . not their lives in suicide bombings and the like.

I had to give up my suicide bombing duties, the price of explosives is cost prohibitive and after the first time you do one, it is hard to come back for a repeat performance.
Also, suicide for any reason is a very serious sin. As are the killing of innocent people. We are not to be aggressors and can only war in terms of defense, even then only to the degree to stop an aggressor.
Terrorism is it's own religion. all terrorists and suicide bombers are of the same kind no matter what religion or non-Religion they claim to follow.

...For the present. Who knows what he might ask his followers to do, in the name of being "saved."
