There is a better way of dealing with the muslim community than the sort of behaviour that drives them to hate our guts. When we have finally undone the utter mess that Bush and his poodle got us into, plus the financial screw up which originated in America, as you will probably know, we will hopefully NOT be having to deal with a flood of refugees from the US being turned into bedlam by a tea- party in the White House.

You're a card, Gldrule. Since your plonking declaration that secularism will never make any inroads against Christianity seems to be failing to hold up, you are obliged to turn to China for some bulking up of the otherwise sharply dwindling figures.

The Chinese are smart people and can use the Internet.

That's not sarcasm. It's the truth. Liberals are tolerant only if you agree with them.

I am a lifelong Atheist and I completely agree with you. Many people need religion in their lives and benefit a great deal from it. As long as you don't give us Atheists a hard time for not agreeing with your beliefs, we will have no problems.

I really enjoy the Christmas decorations you all put up.

Here, try this: In The Land Of Mao, A Rising Tide Of Christianity Among Chinese : NPR
With the population of that country, any losses in other places will be offset many times over.

Religion was, is, and will probably always be, the most prolific and influential elective concept known to man. Get hip to that, cuz that's THE FACTS OF REALITY.

Official Chinese surveys now show that nearly one in three Chinese describe themselves as religious, an astonishing figure for an officially atheist country, where religion was banned until three decades ago.

Hate to tell you but religion is not going anywhere. Not in your lifetime. Even Obama has the sense to claim a religion. Not sure what he really is though.

For others here, it's all about the gay agenda. At some point they will push it too far, and then the backlash will begin, in earnest. That will be fun to watch, whether a Christian or not. Lol
I'll believe conservatives want less government when they stop being so intrusive with respect to personal liberty. When they stop attempting to deny women the right to an abortion, or gays the right to marry.

Bear in mind that 'religious' doesn't necessarily mean 'Christian'. Buddhism is also the subject of some of these 'Religion on the rise in China' articles. Islam too. In fact this has happened before in the Tai - Ping rebellion with a huge Christian movement that threatened to unseat the government. When the west saw what an odd version of Christianity it had become, they sided with the Imperials and helped put it down.

Of course banning anything has the effect of causing the masses of mindless minions to gravitate toward this "banned thing" what ever it is.

This country tried banning alcohol, how did that work out?
How has banning marijuana, or cocaine, or crack worked out?
Even the suggestion of banning tobacco creates a howl that is deafening.
Ban birth control and watch the birth rate drop
Ban seat belt use and watch the death rate on the highways decline.
Ban drinks larger than 20 Oz and watch obese people order 2 or 3 drinks.

Organized religions would love it if a government banned religion, the greatest recruitment movement they could hope for.

Hey...I'm just a realist---Sex (porn) and religion...that covers the majority of mankinds thoughts and motivation overall throughout human history. HaHa.

Look...I think religion sux as much as anyone...but I'm not gonna delude myself.
Christianity and Islam are the front-running concepts by a looooooong ways...together they cover about half the world. The real fact is, they are growing faster in raw numbers than Atheism.
I'm not "turning to China for some bulking up"...it is what it is...and if they get the "religion bug" (and it appears they are), it's a wrap as far as any net increase worldwide for Atheism.

It always seems the Atheists point to "percentage increases" in low population countries to try to prop up their "brand"...while they ignore the REALITY that the concept of Atheism is still nuthin' to speak of relatively.

I'm not pro life necessarily, but some view the fetus as a human being. Thus it's not about the woman it's about the unborn human. Funny thing is, I work very near an abortion clinic. Vast majority of it's visitors are minorities. But yet conservatives are cast by liberals as racists, unfailingly.

Gays don't have a right to marry as the institution of marriage is traditionally defined. Neither do wolves and people. Gays call it a "right" but it's really an exception. 12 year olds don't have the right to drive. Are their rights being violated?
