I’ve heard people make that type of baseless, pejorative comment; demonstrating again that 'free speech' doesn't automatically lend any degree of truth to what is said. True, history and ancient cultures were not big advocates of 'women's rights'. (Similar to some countries and cultures today). The Bible refers to the cultural bias's at a time when women were virtually considered chattel... but, certainly neither endorses or commends it.
On the contrary, scripture is very clear that, in God's eyes, "there is no male or female, slave or free, Jew or Greek." Claims to the contrary typically cite early cultures where 'women were not to be teachers,' were expected cover their head in church, and were/ (still are) expected to honor ('submit to') and respect their husbands, who are expected to do likewise.
The Church were I go has Jesus Holy Spirit , and the lead Pastor is male and there are two female unpaid Pastors and One male unpaid Pastor who is a elder , and the female Pastors and the male Pastors are all treated like equal brothers and sister In Christ and there has Never been some wrath of God or dark spiritual attack because of it as they are all married to their spouses and one female Pastor is a widow , and they all get a chance to preach from time to time with the lead Pastor preaches most of the time ............... Have never heard any teaching on Apostles Paul teaching from Corinthians about the customs of the Corinthians in relations to women and the church ............... I believe that self determination in some of the churches were male control is preferred , and woman cannot be leaders or preachers , which is more legalistic to stand on these ideas if there is no spiritual challenge when Christians resist the ways of the devil and allow women a voice in the church ............. I just believe that the church were I go is Not the Corinthian church ............... There are more women in the church , as the witness in Christ is lax , so the cry from the Lords through the Prophets is the wake up before its to late for Jesus is coming
The world pushes pornography and prostitution. It pushes societal pressures on teenage girls to become sexually active
It has a Madison Avenue culture that leads to young girls feeling insecure about their bodies and self-worth leading to bulimia and anorexia, defacing their bodies, etc
It pushes division between men and women and has led to separation of households
Above all it pushes the killing of innocent baby girls in the womb.
I have coffee with the men in my area 2-3 times a week. They sit and gossip as much as any woman does. So....that can't be it.
He said that women were more into socializing, not that there are no men who socialize in a church setting.
