I sure hope so, because I'm looking for a job right now...so far...unanswered. For whatever reason, I don't know, but not for the lack of trying.
I do believe in prayer, however. I don't know where I'd be without a belief in God. I'm not particularly religious, but spiritual, for sure.
My son has had two brain surgeries and I'm certain all the prayers and his positive attitude are helping him our family through this. Also, my late-husband's mother prays more than anyone I know. She has always said that she is a great believer in prayer and she regularly puts people on prayer lists at her church. Who am I to say that hasn't helped. I've also sent out a mass email to friends and family before each surgery.
Another side thing for people with brain tumors...good thing my son LOVES jalapeno peppers too. It contains capsaicin. Maybe it's a combination of everything. After the last MRI, the doctor said, "whatever it is you're doing, keep doing it."
You kind of skipped the subject of praying for world peace. When I went to Catholic Grade School we prayed for world peace each morning...Didn't work.

I think I did address this kind of thing by saying that some things are not in God's sovereign plan (which is essentially what ILNC just said above.) Also, I would add that unbelievers seem to point out when prayers aren't seemingly answered, but when there is evidence that they were, then they seem to have no explanation for that...other than to attempt to discredit the incident or say it was mere coincidence.
Decades ago I prayed. Nothing happened.
Since then I've formulated the following...
God does not answer prayer because:
1. He doesn't give a hoot how the people are suffering.
2. God doesn't have the power to change anything anway.
3. God actually enjoys seeing people in agony (sick mind).
4. God does not exist.
After thinking it over I've decided that 4 is the most logical conclusion. I haven't prayed for decades.

lol,you are very smart.
I know a guy who uses another method to disprove the existence of God.
He is always blaspheming against God everywhere he goes. And nothing ever happened to him.
Prayers are answered, but you must believe in order to recieve. Ive had many prayers answered, some not, but Ive never went without my needs, and Ive never ask for my wants. I also make sure I give to others, sometimes alot sometimes not. I have noticed that people dont know how to recieve gifts, they think its weird that Id give someone a pair of earrings Im wearing just because they said they liked them. Why not? They are just things, anyway I just wanted to say for me, prayer works.
