Can anyone debate this claim? Is the eternal compassion expressed in the NT the only way to express eternal compassion? Jesus was of the flesh. Buddha is of the spirit. Who's expression of eternal compassion is truly free and without undo suffering? Who expresses it better? Who expresses it more purely?

Silly question. Buddha never had to contend with scourging and crucifixion while maintaining his compassion and maitri (agape love) . . . Christ DID! . . . even for his torturers and murderers. There is NO comparison. Christ is the more perfect Maitreya Buddha himself 500 years earlier predicted would eventually emerge.

Erm ... Buddhism has no sabbath and no prohibition against gathering sticks on the sabbath. That is an event that happened in the Bible (Numbers 15:32).

Vizio knows that quite well. It was an attempt to rile the Rider while illustrating his, um...wit.

(after a beat) Hahahaha! I get it now!

Yeah, I kinda figured that, but was clarifying for the less Biblically literate and also, had forgotten that this getting-killed-for-picking-up-sticks thing is one of Rider's hobby horses.

Buddha's expression of eternal compassion doesn't need blood sacrifice. Buddha's compassion is a deliverance of life eternal that is of pure light. A kind of mythology telling that requires nothing physical. When Buddhists want to express this kind of love, they do what they can through whatever means OTHER than actual murder. The God of the Bible shows his compassion by requiring the bloody, horrifying, immoral, violent death of innocence. YHWH loves blood sacrifices. Always did, always does. I am supposed to thank Jesus for "dying for me" when all he had to do was just say he is in some way there for me from death to life, like the Buddha does. No need to die a horrible death to plant the seed of life eternal. Whenever you deal with the flesh, you deal with impurity. Buddha's compassion is pure light.

All your doing is driving an illogical wedge between two, so as to suggest they themselves are at war for the governing of the people which is from what we know, not possible. So they would not be enemies, this is the suggestion, they would be enemies and desire conflict for it. Introducing competition on either side for the honor would be a dishonor to what is known, competition is what is bereft both mutually, as a value in notice.

The Bible makes people proclaim that Buddhism is evil paganism for heathens, when, at it's core, all it is an incredible expression of compassion. Compassion that YHWH is jealous of! The Tibetan Book Of The Dead is the greatest and purest expression of eternal life ever conceived. No blood sacrifices, no murder, no genocide, no bigotry towards all people of other religions. The only religion creating conflict is the Bible's.
