More personalizing huh? Just shows the ignorance of judging a person's character via some internet posts. Everything she wrote is completely wrong including the age part, but hey just make up whatever you want if that's what you have to do to play the superiority card.

Can you stick to the subject about how your kind of religion is destroying any possibility of people finding faith. I've given you a conservative Christian's research. Have you nothing but opinions to offer? Any research that atheists are the primary cause of the demise of Christianity?
I guess not, so it's the fundamentalist fall back position of "I'm just a poor persecuted Christian." I can go to at LEAST a half dozen active threads and find a post from another persecuted Christian. And most of the persecution involves, "I can't be as intolerant as I want toward people my god has condemned to hell."
Obviously I'm part of a vast Satanic conspiracy against The Truth!
Remember, I used to be one of you. I know how the belief system works. It's a self-reinforcing delusion with its own internal logic.
I believe that religion destroys lives by trapping people in harmful delusions. That is why I fight against all religion*, not just your Christianity.
* the incomprehensible New Age and Liberal Christian mumbo jumbo is probably harmless, as far as I can tell
Even that can become a pain when we find Alternative Medicine wanting to set up consultation rooms in clinics. Feng Shui consultants being paid to advise on building design. Potentially, they are as bad as religion, except they haven't the long -established tradition of authority. And we are still dealing with the fall -out from the Chariots of the gods fad.
Of course, and he uses you to post relentless anti-Christian content here so you can lead others down the path of deception. I would be much more apt to accept the atheist perspective if they simply went about their lives instead of this crusade against Christianity. It's like you devout your life to hating Christianity. If you truly believe this physical realm is all we get then that's quite a waste of valuable time.
In other words, atheists should just sit down and shut up ... and let Christianity roll right over them. You're getting a good look in Indiana right now about why atheists "crusade" against religion. You're going to see it every time they try to reduce a certain harmless demographic group to 2nd class citizens because they violate your religious beliefs. You're going to see it whenever they try to put forced prayer back in public schools, or when they try to sneak religion through the backdoor of our schools with this Intelligent Design in our science classrooms nonsense. You're going to see it every time Christianity violates the U.S. Constitution and every time someone like you whines because atheists just won't be quiet whilst fundamentalism, evangelism, dominionism, and every little hillbilly church in the South runs roughshod over the rest of us.
This country is drowning in primitive superstition and as I said before, people act on those superstitions. Their attitudes, their worldviews, their voting patterns, even their exposure to the world are all dictated by these superstitions. Not science. Not fact. Not numbers. No ... superstition. One may as well make important decisions by reading tea leaves, chicken entrails, rune stones, or consulting the Oracle at Delphi.
In case you haven't noticed, America isn't doing so well these days -- and religion is part of the problem. We still consult ancient holy books, we beseech old desert tribal gods, we do things not because they benefit us but because it just might - MIGHT - make this old desert tribal god happy. Meanwhile, the rest of the world is growing ever more secular. Anywhere where secularism is NOT the rule is a cesspool of violence, internecine terrorism, and abject poverty where the people have no future, no voice, and no hope. These are places where women still cannot vote, drive a car, go to school, hold a job, or even appear in public without a male escort. These are places where people attending a music festival are hauled away by AK-47 toting religious fanatics for daring to insult Muhammad with their unholy music. Children are banned from flying kites for some screwy reason ...
And the list just goes on and on and on.
That is the ugly face of religious extremism - and I do not want that here. I want America to join the secular world so we can be great again and not a declining nation where fear wins out and we turn to old desert gods for our answers. God has never done a thing for our country. It all came about with hard work, dedication, a love of country, and a vision for the future. Merely "letting go and letting God" is one of the worst recipes for disaster I can think of right now.
You need to get with the program, Jeff, and stop seeing the world through these ridiculous delusions of demons and devils trying to deceive you - this primitive Bronze Age mentality when everything was about supernatural battles for our souls, tribal gods warring against each other - and yeah, the Bible even talks about how YHWH was defeated in battle twice - once because the enemy had iron chariots and another time because the enemy's leader sacrificed his son. Of course, those things didn't matter in reality. The Israelites got their butts kicked by a superior force so they had to come up with stupid reasons why their supposed God couldn't grant them victory.
And why didn't God lead the Israelites to victory? Oh yeah ... because there IS no God.
We as Americans are in that same boat. We can rely on a God who couldn't defeat an army with iron chariots ... or we can chuck these ancient superstitions into the trash bin where they belong, get out of the churches, take our noses out of the Bible, and get out there to make the human condition better and America stronger.
And yes, I expect there to be a patriotic song playing in the background as you read this post.

You're not kidding.
Here's ANOTHER snippet from an article written by David Frum, a conservative Republican who woke one day to find out the GOP had lost touch with reality. He talks about how conservatism has built it's own alternate-from-reality system of facts, history, mathematics, science, etc. Here's what he says about religion - and remember, this guy is as conservative as they come:
"But the thought leaders on talk radio and Fox do more than shape opinion. Backed by their own wing of the book-publishing industry and supported by think tanks that increasingly function as public-relations agencies, conservatives have built a whole alternative knowledge system, with its own facts, its own history, its own laws of economics. Outside this alternative reality, the United States is a country dominated by a strong Christian religiosity. Within it, Christians are a persecuted minority."
People are finally noticing how ridiculous the Christian position is on their so-called "persecution."
As I've said before, the fundamentalist's definition of "freedom" is "the freedom to take away other people's freedom" so that they goosestep with our morality, our lifestyle, our Biblical rules, and our God. We can't make them believe, but by golly, we can make them live and act as if they do!
There it is in a nutshell.
And yeah, Pat Robertson needs to be taken off the air and the 700 Club branded as a hate group by the Southern Poverty Law Center. I'm tired of that clown spewing his poison to millions of viewers every day. And here Jeff wants atheists to sit down and shut up - while Robertson rots the brains of untold numbers of Americans with his vile verbal ichor.
Here's the link to the David Frum article - but it's mostly about politics rather than religion.
You people take religion waaaaaaay to serious. The one true god, ( yep there was one ) wants you to enjoy the earth he created for you. You just cant do that can you.

Nope. As hard as we try, we just cannot stop our brains from functioning.

We can and we would love to just get on with enjoying it. But we have had repeated warnings that we cannot afford to be a silent majority (let alone a silent minority) and let the religious loons run our world at the tops of their competing voices, each one being replaced by even more extreme and louder braying religious crackpots.
This is our best chance to put the matter right and I also feel that it could be our last chance.

Oh I've heard that canard before. The funny thing is I see absolutely no evidence that their abandonment of my faith made them into a better person. Quite the contrary. I see anger, arrogance, profanity, egotistical and mockery, all negative fruits from spirit of Satan. If you truly had tasted the fruit of God, you would not have left. You would have had supernatural experience that solidify your faith that we serve a true God.
You say my beliefs are harmful yet I've seen people completely change their lives from a destructive path. I've seen a harden criminal who spent most of his life in prison become one of the most loving people in the church and become a deacon. His children had a father again, and the Sunday that he baptized his daughter gave me tears of joy. There are many stories like Brian Head Welch who had everything that this world could offer, money, fame, sex, drugs and yet he just wanted to die. He found new life and immediate healing from meth addiction through faith in Christ. But you will say that is harmful? No atheism is harmful.
