What a joke. This christian charity complains they can't raise enough money, yet turn down $28K that an atheist raised for them, well, because he is an atheist. Small minded people, but then, one gets to expect that from the fundevangelicals.
Having lived near Muskogee in Oklahoma, this doesn't surprise me at all. Some of the folks were even more fundie whackjob than the folks I met when living in South Carolina.
Personally I say let them close. They are not doing what Christ has asked of them - love one another as you love yourself.

The back story is that initially he donated $100 in the name of his atheist group, which was first accepted, and then returned. So he put a GoFundMe appeal together, and raised the amazing amount of $28,000. That was turned down, so $23,000 was donated to Camp Quest, and atheist alternative to bible camps. He tried to donated $5,000 directly, turned down, indirectly through a church, that was turned down because it originated from atheists, and finally, tried to pay the utility bills for the Christian charity, but was unable to as he did not have their account numbers.
In the end, the remaining $5,000 also went to Camp Quest. At least some children will benefit from this. I've been aware of this emerging story for a couple of weeks, and can't believe the asinine behavior of the Christian group.

Some of these things just write themselves. It amazes me how often we get these "bozo eruptions" that just don't make sense in a normal world. But you know, it is not only religious groups which have this attitude.
Some years ago I was on the board of a gun owners group. We had raised money to donate to a women's group, one that dealt with abused women. They would not accept the donation because it came from a gun group. Go figure.

What y'all think? Maybe thoughts and prayers would work? Ya think? Maybe?
Quite different from Mother Theresa, who would take money from any source for her work and just get on with the job.
