Doctor says it would do me some good to engage in some healthy debate. I find the idea of debating God's existence somewhat distasteful but doctor's orders is doctor's orders and the Bible is the only thing I know anything about. I am a novice so please try not to steamroll over me on page one.
I think it's probably best if I take the theist position rather than the atheist position.
Uh... God exists and he's a really really nice guy and everyone should be thankful for everything he's done for us.

Let's not get into that. That's exactly why I find these sorts of debates distasteful. Anyway I never believed to that anyway. I see no reason to think that the afterlife would be much different from this life. And I see no reason to believe that God wouldnt welcome everyone into the Afterlife. But that's not what I want to debate.

"Debate" and "fun" just don't seem to mix. Debate traditionally was to be exclusive to the mind and intellect, and to be free of the emotions. But then again, lots of things aren't like they used to be.
