Theologians may quarrel, but the mystics of the world speak the same language.

When a statement of belief about god determines reliability.
Reliability becomes as likely as the statement of belief about god.

Mine has been sitting there under my status for years.

'Carpe Diem' or 'Seize the day'.

In it's most basic sense it means live every day as though it's your last.

If you flesh that out, it means make the most of your life because you never know what tomorrow brings.

I firmly believe that life is precious. A miracle you might say.
And in all likelihood you're not getting another one.
There be no afterlife, no second chances, no reincarnation, no next life.
The odds against us being here at all are astronomical. So don't waste it.

I firmly believe that and I live by it.

You might say I'm wrong. Well okay. But nobody knows if there is an afterlife or a next life.. So I'm not going to spend my life waiting around for a better one. This is it. Use it.

As it also says under my status "life is a one time offer. Use it well."

Why I always like to say, "live life like you mean it!"

One of my long-time all time favorites...

"For the great enemy of truth is very often not the lie--deliberate, contrived and dishonest--but the myth--persistent, persuasive, and unrealistic. Too often we hold fast to the cliches of our forebears. We subject all facts to a prefabricated set of interpretations. We enjoy the comfort of opinion without the discomfort of thought." -- JFK
